After Hrisikesh Mukherjee and Basu Chatterjee, it’s been a while; when Bollywood produced any feel good movie. Movies made in Hollywood like A Good Year, As Good As It Gets etc made their own presence in Hollywood with their charm. After a long time Bollywood comes with this essence. The movie which makes you feels good even if you entered the theatre in a tedious mood.
But it’s strange that the movie lacks hype except having such wonderful star cast. It may because of YashRaj’s previous disastrous ventures like Tashan. But believe me watch TPTM, it will be a wonderful treat to your family this weekend.
Though the movie is not flawless. We will talk about that later. Lets starts with the story.

One can easily guess from the promo that TPTM is a simple story. Ranbeer [Played by Saif] is a rich businessman, who lost everyone in his life for his success. Now for the verdict of the case of a landmark, Ranbeer has to look after four orphans and on the matter of fact those kids hates Ranbeer and vice-versa. Now on one bad day the kids prayed to the God for help and the almighty listens to them and send his most beautiful, adorable and innocent angel, Geeta [Played by Rani Mukherjee], who came into their house cycling through the rainbow. Geeta joins the party as the children nanny and then the roller-coaster joyride begins.
The ride of comedy, joy, emotions. An angel who didn’t know love; a man who lost love and four kids who needs love. The rest of the movie is all about this.
Some brilliant moments are there; the car accident, courtroom drama set the speed of the movie and these continue through the first half. Most of them are funny and simple humor.
But the second half took the movie into another level. How Saif fall in love with those kids? How the kids fall in love with him and the finale. Though the climax looks like very much Bollywood but who cares.
Though the movie is not flawless. The movie has several drawbacks. First is Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy’s music. The trio isn’t in their best form. The music is a big disaster as far as Hum-Tum and Fanna concerned. Secondly what’s Aamisha Patel doing in this film? The script can be completed easily without her, though Aamisha sizzles in ‘Lazy Lamhe’ Track with her short and voluptuous outfit.
Cinematography by Sudip Chatterjee is excellent. As I told you earlier Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy’s music is a big dissapont. The songs that stands out is “Pyaar Ke Liye”.
Now come to acting. There are four kids in the movie and all are adorable and acted brilliantly throughout. But the one who steals the show is the little “jat”, Iqbal. Saif do not need to act as he is so natural in his charater. Rani Mukherjee is brilliant in her character and a good come back movie for her. Aamisha’s character is irritating throughout. There is no need of her in the movie except the song. Must say that “its hot”. Rishi Kapoor, Taranna did justice to their character.
Kunal Kohli is a brilliant storyteller. You have already seen his expertise in Hum-Tum and Fanna. There is no doubt about his capability. Exceptionally good job.
On the whole Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magick is complete family movie. Though the lack of hype and Euro Cup Final on the weekend may harm the starting of the movie but this movie will take its pace by mouth publicity. Watch the movie with your family and gave them a fine weekend treat.
