Eye glittering special-effects + superb-acting + mesmerizing set design + handsome on screen couple + week script = Love Story 2050.

Now the question is does it work? No it doesn’t.

Love Story 2050 is more on the special effects than the substance. Director Harry Baweja failed to put the soul due to the week script. If you wanna make films which based on such huge special effects, you must keep in mind that you need a solid substance on which you can build or show such special effects. Love Story 2050 fails here. There is no substance.

There was a huge hype before the film was released. It’s basically for couple of things. 

·         Sci-Fi Hindi movie

·         Harman Baweja

·         Harman-Priyanka – the off screen couple on screen.

Now let’s discuss this one by one.  Point One. Yes it’s a science fiction as far as the story concern. The movie starts with a time machine that Yatindar Khanna [played by Boman Irani and also Harman’s uncle in the movie] developed. Karan [Harman] and Sana [Priyanka] are a lovely couple who lives their life in a love paradise. When Yatindar shows the time machine to Sana, she express her desire to take a ride to future Mumbai. But an accident happens. 

Now time is in the future, Mumbai 2050. Through some usual twist and turn Karans finds that Sana separating from him. In the mean time Yatindar get threats from Dr. Hoshi. Now how Sana returns to his love Karan? How Yatindar and Karan will fight against Dr. Hoshi? The remaining movie deals with these?

Mumbai 2050, the flying car, sky rails, 200 storied buildings, robots all these will certainly remind you some famous Hollywood flicks, like I Robot, Bicentinial Man, Back to the future etc. Those are not new. But in terms of execution it’ll certainly deserves credits.

Point two. Harman is an actor to watch. He has got a good physique, a very good dancer, handsome undoubtedly and a fine actor. This movie may be his first, but he is so mature, that he delivers his part easily.

Point three. Harman-Priyanka. The couple looks great together. You will be in love with them. This is the cutest couple in recent time.

Now you can see that the hype is true. There is no doubt about that.  But the script fails to deliver its promises.

Love story 2050 starts with a great pace. Its seems like a roller coaster ride and it’s continue through the first half. But in the second half, the director only deals with the special effects rather than the script and let everything goes away from his hand.

Love Story 2050 is a noble effort but what’s that matter if you don’t have the soul.Anu Malik’s music suited to the movie. “Milo na milo” and “Such Kehna” are the twos that stands out. Vijay Arora’s cinematography is first rate. Omung Kumar’s set design deserves a special clap. Special Effect is the best part of the movie. Its highly competent to the international standard. 

Harry Baweja is a good director but he fails due to week script. But he deserves a standing obession because of his noble effort.

According to performance I have already said about Harman and Priyanka. The couple looks wonderful together and handled their character well. Boman Irani and Archana Puran Singh are lovable.

On the whole Love Story 2050 is a disappointment, in spite of Harman good acting and superb special effects. The hype regarding the movie will sure bring crowd to the ticket window initially.
